9th International CellML Workshop
The annual International CellML Workshop is an opportunity for scientists to present and discuss ongoing work related to physiological modelling and simulation with particular focus on model and data exchange & reuse, archiving, and versioning and related software support. This year the CellML Workshop is being held as a satellite meeting of the 2015 Cardiac Physiome Workshop, to be held in Auckland's Viaduct Harbour April 8-10.
While the primary emphasis of this workshop is on CellML, work from across the VPH & Physiome Project and computational systems biology communities are covered (e.g., RICORDO, SED-ML, Physiome Repository, COMBINE, and the Virtual Physiological Rat). In addition to participants from the Auckland Bioengineering Institute, the Maurice Wilkins Centre, and the University of Auckland, previous workshops have attracted delegates from the UK, USA, Japan, Norway, France, Poland, Belgium, and Germany.
This year the workshop will feature the following topics.
- CellML and the Cardiac Physiome.
- CellML-related software updates and demonstrations (including OpenCOR and OpenCMISS).
- The Physiome model repository - infrastructure plans, updates, user requirements, and future directions.
- Related standardisation efforts - SED-ML, SBML, FieldML, BioSignalML.
- Metadata and data annotation.
- Mathematical modelling best practices and workflows.
Location
The 9th International CellML Workshop will be held in the Goldie Room at the Goldie Vineyard, Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand. Daily transport from downtown Auckland to the venue will be arranged each day of the workshop.
Programme
The draft workshop programme is available.
Registration
Registration for the 9th International CellML Workshop has now closed. If you would still like to attend, please contact David Nickerson directly. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors there was no charge for registration.
Delegate Listing
The listing of currently registered participants is available.
Remote attendance
Once again we hope to provide the facility for remote attendance at the workshop. We will likely be using Google Hangouts, but the organisers welcome any suggestions or advice on alternative platforms. Please register using the above form even if you plan to attend remotely.
Please see the hangouts page for a list of the live hangouts during the workshop.
Workshop Dinner
If there is sufficient interest indicated via the registration form, we will arrange for a group dinner on the Monday evening. If you would like to change your answer for the dinner from the registration form, please let the organisers know. Partners and colleagues are also welcome to attend the dinner, just let the organisers know the numbers as soon as possible.
Accommodation
As mentioned above, this years workshop is being held as a satellite meeting of the 2015 Cardiac Physiome Workshop. If you require accommodation in Auckland during the workshop, please see the accommodation information.
Organisation
The 9th International CellML Workshop is being organised by David Nickerson, with the help of Kate Harsant, Peter Hunter, Poul Nielsen, Mike Cooling, and Hugh Sorby from the Auckland Bioengineering Institute. Please contact David if you have any queries regarding the workshop.
Sponsors
The 9th International CellML Workshop is jointly sponsored by the Auckland Bioengineering Institute and the MedTech CoRE.
