The graph metadata specification does not currently contain any way to limit how many points to use to draw the graph. Ideally, it should define two things: 1) The type of control. There are several useful ways to do this: a) Limit the density of points (drop points which are too close). b) Compute points so they are interpolated onto an exact grid. 2) The value of the control limit.
