Description:
The simulation metadata specification needs to have a way to specify the algorithm to use, as well as parameters of this such as error control, step size controls, and sub-algorithms such as linear solvers. Ideally, it should be possible to identify the exact algorithm that is used, but allow for software which doesn't know this algorithm to fall back onto another similar algorithm. We may be able to use part of an existing ontology for the classification of numerical methods, but we still need to decide which terms are defined for use in the simulation metadata.
