Inaugural CellML workshop to showcase community developments, consolidate project road-map
The Auckland Bioengineering Institute will host the inaugural CellML Workshop on 4 - 5 April 2007. The event will for the first time bring together CellML users, model builders and tool developers to discuss the development and growth of the CellML project.
The two-day workshop will showcase the computational models and tools developed by CellML community members from New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, U.S.A., Japan and the United Kingdom.
The workshop will also provide a forum to plan developments within the CellML project. Workshop participants will also discuss how CellML can be best utilised by the Physiome Project, the worldwide effort to understand human and other eukaryotic physiology.
The event organiser, Dr David Nickerson from the National University of Singapore, says "the workshop will provide invaluable feedback that will assist developers to continue the development and growth of the CellML community".
CellML is a rich and powerful method for storing and exchanging mathematical models and was originally developed by researchers at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute. The CellML community has now grown to include tool developers and model builders from around the world.
