Work done on model:
Gave initial value of 1 to all variables subject to ODEs. This resulted in a non-flat output.
It is likely that this model is not actually amenable to CellML. To quote the paper, "The program that solved the steady-state equations and optimized the rate constants was developed for this project using C++ programming language. To invert the matrix representing the linear equations, the method of LU decomposition was applied (7). To minimize the penalty function, the function powell in Press et al. (7), which implements the Powell's direction set method in multidimensions, was used after modification for use in C++ language. All the calculations were done in double precision (64-bit IEEE format). The source code was compiled with Metrowerks C/C++ compiler (version 1.8) running under MacOS. All the development and calculations were conducted with a desktop computer equipped with 180 MHz PowerPC 604e CPU."
No system of ODEs was actually given in the paper, only a state diagram. The ODEs in the CellML model were derived from the state diagram.
Therefore no further work has been undertaken on this model. These suggestions need to be confirmed.
Curation Status:
Model runs in PCEnv but produces flat line output. Model may not be appropriate for CellML. Has not been changed from original model.
